On May 10, 2024, the Great Hall of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan will host a literary and musical evening «Heroes of Kazakhstan in the Great Patriotic War» dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Heroes of the Soviet Union - Aliya Moldagulova, Sagadat Nurmaganbetov, «National Hero» Rahimzhan Koshkarbayev and the 125th anniversary of Ivan Babin.

The soldiers of Kazakhstan in the Second World War took part in all combat fronts and battles, showing mass heroism and courage. During the war years, 1 million 200 thousand Kazakhstanis were mobilized to the front, more than 600 thousand people died. More than 100,000 soldiers from Kazakhstan were awarded military orders and medals, and more than 500 people were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.

The purpose of the literary and musical evening is the formation of civic consciousness, the upbringing of the younger generation of a sense of patriotism, love for the Motherland and native land, a sense of pride and respect for the historical past.

The concert program includes a performance by the brass band of the Regional Command «Ontustik» of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The book and virtual exhibitions «Heroes of Kazakhstan in the Great Patriotic War» are presented from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
