On June 17, 2019, a gala event dedicated to the Day of Communications and Information Workers (June 28) was held in the hall named after N. Dauletova.

The staff of the National Library congratulated the workers of communication and information for their contribution to the spiritual revival of our contemporaries, all-round development of the personality, the formation of civic-patriotic principles in them.

On June 12, 2019 there in the hall of E.Tursunov took place the creative meeting “Pushkin as the prophet of Russian civilization” with the winner of the State prize of Russia, the well-known actress, TV-host, public figure Olga Budina, dedicated to the 220-th birthday of the great Russian poet.

There within the framework of the holiday is organized the book exhibition “Kazakhstan and Russia: friendship sealed by time” dedicated to the 25-th anniversary of the twin-cities Moscow and Almaty.

On June 12, 2019 there in the hall after N.Dauletova took place the creative meeting with the writer and professor of the English language from Davidson college from the state of North Carolina – Brenda Flanagan.

She is known in the whole world with the unusual theatricalized presentations of her short stories and verses. At the present time she teaches the writer’s mastery, the Caribbean and Afro-American literature in Davidson college from the state of North Carolina.

On June 6, 2019 there in the reading hall of world literature is organized the book exhibition “The great Russian poet is 220 years old” dedicated to his jubilee.

A.S.Pushkin is the creator of Russian literary language, the primogenitor of new Russian literature.

As the main traditions of Russian literature he asserted humanism, people’s traditions, realism, civil position. His poetry is the brightest example of harmonically splendid art in the Russian and world literatures.

There on May 31, 2019 at 11:00 hours in the reading hall “Kazakhstan kitaptary” for the Day of memory of victims of the political repressions took place the evening dedicated to the 125-th birthday of the prominent public and state figure “Alashtyn arda uly – Sultanbek Kozhanov” and also the literary review in memory of Iliyas Zhansugurov, Saken Seifullin, Beimbet Mailin.

The Day of memory of victims of the political repressions is the day in memory of the victims that perished in the epoch of the Stalinist regime: the famine, the mass repressions, the persecutions and the violent deportation of innocent people. One of the victims of the political repressions of those times was the prominent public and state figure, a scientist, publicist, editor Sultanbek Kozhanov. Participant of the fight for the freedom and independence of the Single Turkestan.

On May 27-30, 2019, specialists of the Information Resources Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.K. Nesipbaeva, head of the group for the processing of foreign literature and K.D. Avelbekova, a librarian of the highest level categories held a training seminar in the Almaty Regional Universal Library on "The main direction of modern library digitization and development of the international Universal Decimal Classification".

The purpose of the seminar is increasing the role of libraries in preservation of cultural and historical heritage of the country in the conditions of development of information technologies, propaganda and development of cultural and spiritual values of the people, strengthening and exchange of experience among the library specialists of Almaty region.
