бабалар глOn February 21, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the presentation of the book «In the footsteps of the ancestors: a Muslim school in the Kazakh Steppe», published by «MUFTIYAT» publishing house under the leadership of the Chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbai kazhi Taganuly.

The book is devoted to the history of the penetration of Islam in the Kazakh steppe, the place of religion in the customs and traditions of our people, the basics of Muslim rituals. The book is addressed to experts in the field of religion, historians and researchers, as well as a wide readership.

The event was moderated by Deputy Director for Innovation of the M. O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, Candidate of Philological Sciences Torali Kydyr Yedilbayuly.

Opening remarks were made by the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Library Union B.K. Ospanova and Chief Mufti Nauryzbai kazhi Taganuly.

The presentation was attended by: Vice-President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Zhumadildaev; Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Kasymkhan Begmanov; People's Writer of Kazakhstan, member of the Board of Elders of the Duma, writer Smagul Yelubai; Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mambet Koigeldy; Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture «Nur-Mubarak» Muhammad al-Shahkhat al-Jindi; member of the Board of Elders of the DUMK Marat Tokashbayev; director of the «Abu Hanifa» Research Center Kerim Shamshadin.

Also, books published by the «MUFTIYAT» publishing house were donated by the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hall of Religion and Traditions.
