On February 2, an online event on the theme «Acquaintance with Chinese Civilization - Poetic Chang'an, memory of a brilliant civilization» was held in the Great Hall of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized jointly with the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty.

The purpose of the event is to strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation, familiarize young people from Central Asian countries with the ancient history and culture of China.

The event was organized by the Government of Xi'an City on behalf of the People's Republic of China. The city of Xi'an (old name Chan'an) was the place of concentration of trade caravans that traveled along the Great Silk Road to China and where the burial mounds of Ancient China, the mausoleum of Qin Shi Huang with a terracotta army are located.

The program of the event included: an information review on the topic «Entry into Chinese civilization»; interactive communication with representatives of the embassies of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan.

The event was attended by: Consul General of China in Almaty, Ms. Jian Wei; students of universities, colleges; staff of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan; everyone interested in the history and culture of China.
