The Information Resources Center of the World Literature Hall has organized a book exhibition «Sustainable Development Goals in the Republic of Kazakhstan», dedicated to the disclosure of 17 global goals of the UN program.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) The UN consists of 17 interrelated goals, developed as a plan to achieve a better and more sustainable future for the entire world's population by 2030.

Kazakhstan is a member of the United Nations and has committed itself to follow the Sustainable Development Goals. The main goal is to achieve a high–quality and sustainable economic recovery, leading to an increase in people's well-being at the level of the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Qualitative economic growth should be based on increasing the competitiveness of business and human capital, technological modernization, improvement of the institutional environment, as well as minimizing the negative impact of man on nature.

The implementation of the SDGs in Kazakhstan can potentially bring the country to the sustainable development of all major spheres of life and the solution of global problems affecting every person in the republic.

The greatest attention in Kazakhstan is paid to the development of the following areas:

- People: poverty eradication, gender equality, healthy living, education;

- Planet: rational use of terrestrial ecosystems and water resources, climate change;

- Prosperity: inclusive growth and economic transformation;

- Peace: a safe and peaceful society, strong institutions, justice;

- Partnership.

To achieve the above goals, Kazakhstan has currently developed its own strategies and programs for sustainable development, such as: «Ana uyi», «Greental», «Eg Stic», etc.

The book exhibition presents books, materials and reports on the activities of the United Nations in Kazakhstan in the field of SDG implementation in Kazakh, Russian and English. International obligations and national strategic documents of the Republic of Kazakhstan are also presented.
