On October 20, the conference «The Afghan War: History and Lessons (1979-1989)» was held in the hall named after of N. Dauletova .

Organizers : The Department of Public development of the city Almaty and the public fund "Social project management".

The conference discussed issues of history, military exploits,and the consequences of the  Afghan war.

The event was held by Doctor of Historical Sciences,lecturerat Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, veteran of the  Afghan war Bolat Sailan.

The event was opened by Kazakhstan Sharhan Muhamed-Kanapia a specialist of the exhibitions and cultural programs  service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Afghan war veterans: Baidaulet Darkembaev, Almasbek Aidarbaev, Baikal Hamzin, Kurmanbay Zhumat, Askar Zhorabaev, director of «Social project management» center Beibit Moldahmetuly and other veterans of Afghan war and the Tajik-Afghan conflict spoke.
