In the reading room named after Oraz Zhandosov of the “Kazakhstan Kitaptary” Service, a book exhibition "Mangilik mahabbat zhyrshysy" was organized, dedicated to the life and work of the people's writer of Kazakhstan, World War II veteran Azilkhan Nurshaikhov.

Azilkhan Nurshaikhov was born on December 15, 1922 in Zharma district of Semipalatinsk region. Azilkhan Nurshaikhov became interested in poetry from the age of 14. His first poems and articles were published in district, regional and republican publications. The young poet graduated from the Gorny Institute in Almaty and entered the Kazakh Pedagogical College named after Abai in Semey, then studied at the N. Krupskaya Pedagogical Institute.

In 1940, he worked as a teacher at a secondary school in the Zharminsky district of the Semipalatinsk . In 1941, when the Great Patriotic War began, 19-year-old Azilkhan was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. He went through the entire war as a gun commander in the 100th Kazakh rifle brigade.

After the war, A.Nurshaikhov entered the Philological faculty of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. After graduating from the university, he worked in the editorial office of the newspaper "Socialist Kazakhstan", in 1953-1956.   editor of the Pavlodar regional newspaper "Kyzyl tu", in 1963-1965. editor-in-chief of the republican newspaper "Kazakh adebieti". Then he was an employee of the M.Auezov Institute of Literature and Art.  In 1968, he was the head of the editorial office of language, literature and folklore in the newly opened edition of the Kazakh Soviet Encyclopedia. He participated in the publication of the first volumes of the encyclopedia and wrote about a hundred encyclopedic articles. Member of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.

A.Nurshaikhov worked as a journalist for many years. In parallel with his journalistic activities, he was constantly engaged in literary work. Gradually, the creative style of the writer was formed. The long-term fruitful creative work of A. Nurshaikhov was awarded the orders of "Glory of the 3rd degree", "Patriotic War of the 2nd degree" (1944), "Badge of Honor" (1956), "Friendship of Peoples" (1984), "Parasat" (2005), "Otan" (2010) and medals: "For Bravery" (1943), "For military Merit" (1944), "For the victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", "For the liberation of Warsaw" (1945). People's Writer of the Kazakh SSR (1990), laureate of the State Prize named afterAbaya (1980), winner of the International Literary Prize named after A. Fadeev (1987).

The book exhibition "Mangilik Mahabbat zhyrshysy" from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan presents materials about the life and work of Azilkhan Nurshaikhov, his works, articles and memoirs about him on the pages of the periodical press. Azilkhan Nurshaikhov is the author of numerous collections, essays, short stories, novellas and novels: "Letter to Dzhambul", "Years of Joy and Love", "Me and my Contemporaries", "Song of Eternal Love", "Patterns of Life", etc. The dialogue novel "Truth and Legend" has been translated and published in Ukrainian (Dnipro, 1984) and Czech (1985). The writer translated the works of I. Bunin, M.Sholokhov, P.Pavlenko, A.Yakobson and others into Kazakh. For the novel "Truth and Legend" about the legendary Hero of the Soviet Union Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, the author was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR. after name Abay (1978).

The purpose of the exhibition is to familiarize readers with the creative and social activities of the outstanding Kazakh writer A. Nurshaikhov, who made a significant contribution to the prosperity of Kazakh literature.
