There in the hall of after name of O.Zhandosov of the service «Kazakhstan kitaptary» was organized the book exhibition «Gylym kokzhiegindegi dara tulga», dedicated to the 125-th anniversary of the  soviet geologist, one of the founders  of metallogeny science, the founder of the Kazakh school of metallogeny, academician and the firs president of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR Kanysh Imantaevich Satpaev.

Kanysh Satpaev was born on April 12, 1899. His name is inextricably linked with the period of formation of industry and science in Kazakhstan. K.I. Satpayev of the first Kazakh geologist who discovered the country’s riches of its subsoil, in particular, the huge reserves of copper in Dzhezkazgan, the organizator and first president of the Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, the first academican of the USSR Academy of Sciences from republics of the Soviet East, deputy of the Lenin and State prizes, awarded four orders of Lenin and the Order of the Patriotic War.

Today the name of outstanding scientist, public figure, charming man and sensitive mentor, a true patriot of his people, is worn by: the minor planet Satpayev; a city in the Karagandy region; names of minerals, a glacier and a mountain peak, and many others; the K.I. Satpayev prize and scholarship have been also estabilished.

The purpose of the exhibition is to familiarize with the life and work of the first Kazakh geologist, academician K.I. Satpayev, to popularize and preserve the scientific heritage of the founder of the Kazakh school of metallogeny, to attract readers attention to a famous scientist who made a significant contribution to the development of the country.

The book exhibition consist of three sections. The first section «Kazakh khalkynyn uly galymu» was presented from encyclopedias, bibliographic reference books and reflects materials about the life of the scientist K.I. Satpayev.

The second section of the book exhibiton «Gulym shynynda» introduces readers with works of the academician: «Selected work»of different years; «Selected articls on science and culture»; «Tandamaly».

The third section «Academic K.I. Satpayev turaly syr» presents articles by famous scientists and writers of Kazakhstan «Kanysh aga»(1989), «Academician K.I. Satpayev and his contemporaries » (1999), «Kanysh aga osynday edi»(1999), «Kanysh aga turaly estelykter»(1999), «Academician K.I. Satpayev in the memory of fellow countrymen»(1999), «Satpayev»(2003).
