On November 7, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of the famous Hungarian poet Petőfi Sándor.

 

The event was opened by the Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.H.Yusupova.

The moderator was Nagaev Beibut.

The Consul General of Hungary in Almaty, Mr. Ferenc Blaumann, made a welcoming speech.

In his speech, Akim Zhanuzak, President of the “International Institute of Human Rights”, highlighted a number of issues about the mutual influence of Kazakh and Hungarian history, about new projects for the publication of books by Sandor Petefi.

In her speech, the head of the Department of International Relations and World Literature of the M.O. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art of the KN of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan S.V. Ananyeva, noted the importance of Sh.Petefi, about the role of Hungarian literature, the mutual influence of cultures, about the translations of the poet's poems into many languages of the world.

The event featured the presentation of the collection of poems "Sandor Petofi: Mahabbat pen Bostandyk", which was translated into Kazakh by the famous poet Kadyr Myrza Ali.

The event was attended by the grandson of the Kazakh writer Kadyr Myrza Ali - D.G. Mukhit, who presented books and his albums to Mr. Ferenc Blaumann.

In his speech, the Consul of Hungary in Almaty, Mr. Peter Shiklos, noted the importance of the evening and stressed that Sandor Petefi remains one of the most important poets of Hungary, who left a bright mark in the history of world literature and introduced the guests to the information poster exhibition "Petefi around the world" about the poet's life and work in Kazakh and English.

Head of the World Literature Service S.T.Tuyakova. The book collection of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan has about 130 copies of publications in Hungarian and about Hungary. These editions are monographs, encyclopedias, periodicals. The exhibition featured his works and their translations in different languages of the world since 1955, in Kazakh since 1966.

Sh's poems were performed at the event. Petefi in Kazakh, Russian and translated into Kazakh performed by students of school No. 154 named after Istvan Mandoki and the staff of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For the guests of the evening, the Hungarian full-length film "Wandering Artists" (directed by Pal Sandor, 2018) was shown. Kanat Torebai, a film producer and member of the Union of Cinematographers of Kazakhstan, briefly introduced the audience about the film and the director.
