August 22 the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan was visited by Andreeva Sofia Igorevna, a researcher of the Center of conservation and restoration of documents of the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino.

The Center for Document Conservation and Restoration of the M.I. Rudomino VGBIL is the Russian IFLA PAC Regional Center for Eastern Europe. The Central Asian Regional Center, based in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, actively cooperates with the Russian Center, joint seminars and master classes are held online to disseminate knowledge and technologies in the field of preservation of documentary cultural written heritage.

Director of the National Library of RK Ospanova Bakytjamal Kairbekovna during the meeting emphasized that it is necessary to maintain professional ties and strengthen the interaction of centers.

Head of the Conservation, Restoration and Binding Service A.M. Shomanova conducted a tour of the reading rooms of the National Library of the RK, familiarized the Russian colleague with the activities of the Conservation, Restoration and Binding Service. The specialists of the Service demonstrated the peculiarities of the processes of restoration of rare books and manuscripts in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
