On November 14, 2018 in the Hall of N. Dauletova held an evening of memory dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Kazakh akyn, author of famous songs, member of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan Nutfalli Shakenov.

Organizers: National Library of Kazakhstan and the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan.

Nutfolla Shakenov was born on February 1, 1928 in village №9 of Ermak district of Pavlodar region (now K.Khamzin village of Aksu district). In 1943 he graduated from the faculty of linguistics of the Kazakh State University. During his studies at university, he worked as a literary critic in the newspaper "Socialistik Kazakhstan" and as a head of department in the magazine "Pioneer". From 1948 to 1949 he worked as a senior teacher at Kyzylorda pedagogical institute, from 1949 to 1953 - chief editor of the literary-dramatic editorial board on Kazakh radio, and from 1953 to 1955 - an executive secretary of the newspaper "Kazakhstan Pioneer".

The works of Nutfalli Shakenov began to be published in the republican and Russian editions since 1944. The first poetry collection "Bizdin zhyr", which collected lyrical songs about the Motherland and heroic working days of the people, was published in 1949.

A book exhibition, devoted to the works of Nutfalli Shakenov, was organized within the event.

Poet and satirist Mynbay Rash, scholar-literary critic Temirkhan Tebegen, akyn Bakyt Bedelkhan and the wife of writer Nurgiza Shakenov took part and spoke at the event. Also, students of the journalism department of the university "Turan" performed songs by Nutfalli Shakenov.
