On April 17, 2019, at 3 p.m., the E. Tursunov held a spring festival "Nauryz - Holi Meiramy 2019". The event was organized jointly with the Center of Indian Classical Dance "Almaty-Kazakhstan".
For the Kazakh and Indian peoples, the holidays of Nauryz and Holi are symbols of spring renewal, the celebration of love, fertility and friendship. They are holidays of unity. Since time immemorial, the vernal equinox, when all life awakens, has been considered a new year, the beginning of a new reckoning.
Deputy Director of the National Library A. Yusupova and Consul of the Indian Mission in Almaty, Mr. Martin Sirias Clemens spoke at the celebration.
The musical and literary program featured folk and modern Kazakh songs and cuisines, national dances of Kazakh and Indian peoples, poetic performances by students of Al-Farabi Kazakh and Hindi languages, as well as participants of the Center of Indian Classical Dance "Almaty-Kazakhstan" under the leadership of honored worker of Kazakhstan Akmaral Kaynazarova. The event was attended by a representative of "Tengri Bank", teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, S. D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU, librarians of Almaty, media representatives and readers of the library.
