In the reading room of the Department of Arts organized book exhibition "Talented Composer", dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the composer, People's Artist of Kazakhstan Tless Shamgonovich Kazhgaliev (1949-1996).

Tles Kazhgaliev is an outstanding composer of our time, a bright representative of the creative intelligentsia of Kazakhstan in the second half of the twentieth century. He was born in 1949 in Almaty. After graduating from the K. Baiseitova Specialized School of Music in Almaty in 1949, T. Kazhlaev became a prolific composer. Tles entered the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. The outstanding teacher, professor M. I. Chulaki was his mentor in the class of composition. This was followed by post-graduate course at the Kurmangazy Alma-Ata State Conservatory. He graduated from the Kurmangazy Alma-Ata State Conservatory.

In 1979 he wrote music for the one-act ballet "Caravan" on the libretto of B. Ayukhanov, and in 1988 he wrote two-act ballet "Steppe Legend" on the libretto of Z. Raibayev. He has composed music for the films "By the Edge of the Field" (1982), "The Human Factor" (1984), "The Injured Have No Claim" (1986), "My Home on Green Hills". The author of music to the play "Two in the Steppe" by Emmanuel Kazakevich ( scenic design and staging of the director, honored worker of arts of Russia and Kazakhstan Boris Preobrazhensky) of the State Russian Theatre of Theatre of Kazakhstan (Almaty). The songs of Tless Kazhgaliev were performed in the TV concerts "Songs of the Year" on the Central TV. The scores, which synthesize choral, symphonic and musical and choreographic elements and are addressed to the stage repertoire of the song and dance ensemble, were an interesting experience. Tles worked with passion on music for feature and documentary films. Twelve feature and documentary films present Tless Kazhgaliev's name in the credits. Thus, along with working on fundamental, classical genres, he also wrote pop music. His songs became hits in the repertoire of popular pop singers, often played at concerts, on radio and television.

The honored art worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lenin Komsomol Prize winner, talented composer and active public figure Tles Kazhgaliyev became a significant figure in the history of culture and art of Kazakhstan.

The book exhibition presents materials about the life and creative activity of Tless Kazhgaliev from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
