On December 12, 2019 in the hall named after. E. Tursynov National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan akimat Bostandyk district of Almaty held a festive event dedicated to the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was opened by the Deputy Akim of Bostandyk District of Almaty, Marzhan Yertaykyzy Balbayeva. In honor of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan on behalf of the akim of Bostandyk district of Almaty M.E. Balbayeva awarded citizens who have contributed to the development of the country with certificates of merit.

As part of the event, gifts were given to residents of Bostandyk District who participated in the December events. Kazakhstani pop stars and the Saltanat dance ensemble performed at the event.

The National Library of Kazakhstan organized an exhibition dedicated to the Independence Day.
