On January 24, 2020 at 15.30 in the Hall of World Literature took place the annual traditional ceremony of donation of books to the National library of the RK from the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The annual traditional donation of a new collection of books for the Russian Book Corner was held on the eve of "Tatiana's Day", which is celebrated in Russia on January 25 as Russian Student Day. Consul-Advisor of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty S. Sokolov, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation and Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan I. Pereverzeva took part in the gift-giving event. The moderator of this event was Ms. A. Yusupova, Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.K.Ospanova made a welcoming speech. At the ceremony the Consul of the Russian Federation and the deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan I.V. Pereverzeva were awarded with the breastplate "Kitapkhana insinin uzdigi" - "Excellent Librarian" for the fruitful long-term work and cooperation.

The National Library received as a gift 157 books on Russian history and culture, fiction, scientific literature in various fields of knowledge and science, Russian language, philology, literary studies. Among them there are new series of books: "Holiday Moscow" - sketches of city life in early XX century; "Ladies and dames" - about everyday life of Muscovites in the second half - early XX century; to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War books on this subject. Also there were donated to the National Library of Kazakhstan books from the personal library of Consul I. V. Pereverzeva, in the amount of 189 books. Among them are editions with personal autographs of writers and dedicatory signature of I.V. Pereverzeva herself.

In his speech, Consul-Counselor S.A. Sokolov, on behalf of the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Almaty E.P. Bobrov awarded with letters of thanks for personal contribution to strengthening of friendship between the peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan Director of the National Library of Kazakhstan B.K. Ospanova, Deputy Director A.H. Yusupova, heads of services S.T. Tuyakova, T.A. Zamzaeva.

The students of St. Petersburg Humanitarian University of Trade Unions (Almaty branch), representatives of the Russian community in Almaty, other organizations, readers of the National Library of Kazakhstan and representatives of mass media attended the ceremony. The guests were invited to view the new literature, and a slide show about the work of the Russian Book Corner was shown.
