Коган Иосиф

In the reading hall of the Department of Arts organized a book exhibition “Glorified violinist of Kazakhstan”,  dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Honored Artist of Kazakhstan Kogan Iosif Bentsiojovich was organized.

Kogan Iosif Benzionovich was born on January 10, 1920 in Kishinev, Moldova. In 1939 he graduated from the private conservatory "Unria" in Kishinev, in 1954. - He graduated from the Alma-Ata Conservatory (now the Kazakh National Kurmangazy Conservatory).

In 1940-1942 - Violinist and concertmaster of the symphony orchestra of the Moldavian Philharmonic, in 1942 - soloist of the Kazakh Philharmonic, in 1954-1982 he was a teacher and then the senior lecturer of Alma-Ata State Conservatory named after Kurmangazy. He guided more than one generation of Kazakh violinists.

Kogan I. B. made a significant contribution to the development of the Kazakh school of violin playing. He is the author of a number of works: "Musical Art of Kazakhstan" (1975), "Development of Violin Art of Kazakhstan", "Collection of Violin Pieces on Kazakh Music" (1978).

In 1958 Kogan I.B. took part in the Decade of Kazakh literature and art in Moscow. He performed in many cities of the former USSR with tours.

In 1966 he was awarded with the honorary title "Honored Artist of Kazakhstan".

Iosif Kogan died in December 30, 1982.

At the book exhibition "The Famous Violinist of Kazakhstan" from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan are represented the materials about the life and activity of Iosif Kogan, his musical compositions.
