On December 14, specialists of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in an online meeting on the Republican action "One Country - One Book 2021", organized by the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan in Nur-Sultan.

The event was attended by the deputy director for library work Yusupova A.H., heads of the service and group "Kazakhstan kiptatary" of the National Library of the RK Zharknalova M.B. and Kassymbekova K.N.

Deputy Director Yusupova A.H. in her speech noted the importance of the Republican action "Bir el - bir kitap" and congratulated all participants of the event with the upcoming holiday - Independence Day. Kassymbekova K.N. told about the choice of books for public reading in 2021 by means of mass polling among the readers and librarians of the National Library of the RK. As a result of polling by a majority of votes two famous Kazakh national poets Zhambyl Zhabaev and Mukagali Makataev, 175 and 90 anniversaries of which will be in 2021, were preferred.

In Kazakhstan the Republican action "One country - one book" is held since 2007 on the initiative of the National Academic Library of Kazakhstan and the Library Association of Kazakhstan with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The campaign is held in order to make Kazakh literature more popular, to preserve and increase the historical, cultural and spiritual heritage, to give the younger generation the right moral and patriotic education.

The online meeting was moderated by Director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Umithan Daurenbekovna Munalbaeva.

Every year, within the framework of the Republican action "One country - one book" in all libraries of the country, numerous events and book exhibitions are organized, which provide information about the action, selected authors and their books, as well as the attention of readers are presented works of prominent writers of Kazakhstan.

The participants in the meeting were: Gabit Abzalbek, Deputy Chairman of the Language Policy Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, Ulykbek Esdaulet, Chairman of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, famous poets and writers of Kazakhstan and others.
