On November 10, a memorial evening "Tarikh gylymynyn tarlany" was held in the hall named after N.Dauletova, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding scientist-historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, professor, Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Manash Kabashevich Kozybayev.

Manash Kozybayev is one of the outstanding representatives of the Kazakh historical science, a major organizer of science in Kazakhstan. The bright pages of history of independent Kazakhstan are inseparably connected with his name. He is the author of more than 800 scientific and popular scientific works, including 30 monographs, more than 50 collective works, textbooks and manuals. He prepared the whole galaxy of talented scientists - candidates and doctors of sciences, the scientific school on research of actual problems of history of sovereign Kazakhstan was created. Among his pupils there are prominent scientists of China, Mongolia, Uzbekistan and Russia.

The moderator of the event was a doctor of historical sciences, professor and academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abzhanov Khangeldy Makhmutovich. Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ospanova Bakhytzhamal Kairbekovna made a welcoming speech.

The public figure, the culturologist, the honored figure of Kazakhstan M.M.Auezov, director of Institute of history and ethnology named after Ch. Valikhanov Z.E.Kabuldinov, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor of AUES named after G.Daukeeva Z.M. Tulenova, doctor of historical sciences, professor of Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi Smagulova S.O. doctor of historical sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Karibaev B.B., president of the Academy of Journalism of Kazakhstan, doctor of historical sciences, professor Kozybayev S.K. and others. In their speeches they shared their memories of Manas Kozybayev and expressed their warm wishes.

The fund of the National Library of Kazakhstan stores about 2000 publications about the life and work of M. Kozybaev, his scientific papers, monographs, speeches at scientific congresses, conferences, scientific and journalistic articles in the pages of periodicals.

Within the framework of the evening there were organized: a book exhibition "Tarih gylymynyn tarlany" from the National library fund, presenting materials about the life and work of the academician, family photos, scientific works, monographs and publications of the scientist and demonstration of the documentary film about Manashe Kozybayev from the program cycle "Sunbes saule" of "Qazaqstan" channel. Employees of the service "Qazaqstan kitaptary" conducted a review of the book exhibition.

The poems of M. Kozybayev and poetry of famous Kazakh poets, dedicated to the academician, were performed by the young specialists of the library. The event ended with a musical number "Kazagym" performed by an employee of the Service of information and image work T. Omarbekov.

Guests of the evening were prominent scientists, intellectuals, relatives, teachers and students of universities and colleges of Almaty, readers, as well as representatives of the media.
