In the reading room named after Oraz Zhandosov of the service "Kazakhstan kіptatary" in the framework of the activities of the memorial office was organized a book exhibition "Moldir mahabbat zhyrshysy", dedicated to the life and work of the national writer of Kazakhstan, winner of the State Prize of Abay Azilkhan Nurshaihov.

Azilkhan Nurshaikhov was born on December 15, 1922 in Zharma district of Semipalatinsk region. After completing his studies at a technical college, he went to the front and went through the war as a commander of a gun. During the war the young writer corresponded with the famous Kazakh poet Zhambyl. And this correspondence is reflected by A. Nurshaihov in his book "Letter to Dzhambul".

Nurshaihov began his interest in poetry at the age of fourteen. His first poems were published in 1938 in the Semipalatinsk regional newspaper "Yekpindi". In the postwar years he began to write essays. In 1946-1949 he studied at the Faculty of Philology of the Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov. His teachers were the famous Kazakh writers Mukhtar Auezov and Sabit Mukanov. He has worked as a journalist for many years. In parallel with his journalistic work, he is constantly engaged in literary work, shaping the creative style of a writer. He was awarded four orders, more than ten combat medals of the USSR and honorary certificates. He was awarded the honorary title "People's Writer of the Kazakh SSR" (1990). He was awarded the medal "Eren enbegi ushin" (1995), orders "Parasat" (2005) and "Otan" (2010).

The Fund of the National Library of Kazakhstan keeps about 1000 materials about the life and works of Azilkhan Nurshaihov, the national writer of Kazakhstan, his publicistic articles, collections, essays, stories, narratives and novels. He wrote more than 40 books dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The main themes of his works are love and friendship, patriotism and morality. His works were published in Kazakh, Russian, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Ukrainian, Czech, Spanish, and other languages of the world.

In 2016, a memorial room was opened in the reading room of the National Library of Kazakhstan in order to perpetuate the memory of the famous writer A. Nurshaihov and to promote his creative heritage. The room reconstructs the interior of the writer's home study and keeps his personal belongings. Every year the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan summarizes the results of the literary contest "The World and the Man" among high school and college students for a scholarship named after the national writer A. Nurshaihov.

The book exhibition "Moldir makhabbat zhyrshysy" presents materials about the life and work of the writer, which are reflected in the pages of encyclopedic reference books, as well as photographs of the war years, in the circle of family and friends. The purpose of the exhibition: to tell about the life and work of A. Nurshaihov and his public activities.

Next, the exhibition introduces the reader to the journalistic activities of A. Nurshaihov. Immediately after graduating from the university in 1949, he worked as an employee of the newspaper "Socialistik Kazakhstan". Since 1953 he was chief editor of Pavlodar regional newspaper "Kyzyl Tu". In 1956-1961 he was an own correspondent, in 1961-1963 - deputy editor of the newspaper " Socialist Kazakhstan". - In 1963-1965 he was deputy editor of the newspaper "Socialist Kazakhstan", in 1963-1965 - editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Kazakstan". Author of more than 500 journalistic articles on various topics. From 1968 to 1978 he was an employee of the Kazakh Soviet Encyclopedia and the M. Auezov Institute of Literature and Art.

In the next section of the exhibition one can get acquainted with the creative activity of the writer.  Azilkhan Nurshaihov is the author of numerous collections, essays, stories, narratives and novels: "Letter to Jambul", "Years of Joy and Love", "Truth and Legend", "Me and My Contemporaries", "The Song of Eternal Love", "Patterns of Life", etc. For the novel "The Truth and the Legend" about the legendary Hero of the Soviet Union, Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, the author was awarded the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR named after Abay (1978).

Further, the exhibition presents materials about the writer on the pages of periodicals.
