М.Ауезов

In the reading rooms of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan are organized book and documentary exhibitions dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding Kazakh writer, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Omarkhanovich Auezov.

M.O. Auezov was born in 1897 in Shyngystau (East Kazakhstan Region). He was educated in a Russian school, a teacher's seminary, the Faculty of Philology of the Leningrad (St. Petersburg) University, postgraduate studies at the Central Asian University.

Mukhtar Auezov is one of the founders of Kazakh literature, a writer of world fame and holds a place of honor as a playwright. M. Auezov's first and earliest work was the play "Enlik-Kebek". The drama "Kara-Koz" received the first prize at the competition of playwrights in Kyzyl-Orda in 1926. M. Auezov's epic novel "Abay's Way", about the life of the great poet and educator Abay Kunanbayev, is an outstanding work of Soviet literature. The four-volume novel "Abay's Way" was included in the "Library of World Literature". The film based on his work was nominated from the USSR for the "Oscar" award.

His drama "Baibach-tokal" (Rival Wives) also occupies a special place. Mukhtar Auezov wrote stories: "Destiny of defenseless" (1921), "Who is guilty?" (1923), "Marriage" (1923), "An educated citizen" (1923), "Beauty in mourning" (1925), the novel "A shot at the pass" (1927) and others. M. Auezov is also the founder of a new branch of Kazakh literature science - Abay science and a writer of world fame. He owns more than 20 plays, including: "Aiman-Sholpan" (1934), "Abai" (staged in 1940, together with L. S. Sobolev), "Karakoz" (1926), "Kara Kipchak Koblandy" (1943-1944), "Zarnitsa" (1934), "At the border" (1937), "In the hour of trials" (1942) and others.

Awarded the Order of Lenin, twice the Red Banner of Labor, "Badge of Honor" and other numerous state and foreign awards.

The exhibition "Kemel oydyn kenishi, kenen sozdin orіsі" at the service of rare books and manuscripts presents the drama of the writer in Latin "Enlik-Kebek", published in 1922; play "Ayman-Sholpan", published in 1934; poem "Kozy Korpesh Bayan Sulu" published in 1936, "Literary anthology, published in 1927, the first edition of the historical novel "Abai", famous writer to the world in 1942, a collection of works in 20 volumes, etc. Presented are the works translated into the languages of the world.

The book exhibition "Alem tanygan Auyezov" was organized in the reading room of the Service "Kazakhstan kiptatary". There are materials: encyclopedias, biographical reference-books, fiction and literature about him. Exhibited are the works of the writer since 1947 in Kazakh and Russian languages "Enlik-Kebek", " Korgansyzdyn kuni", " Kim kinali", "Kokserek", "Koly zaman", the drama "Karakoz", etc. About 400 publications are exhibited.

In the hall of world literature at the book exhibition "Auyezov alem adebietinde" works of the writer since 1945 in 29 languages of the world are presented. Readers will be interested in translations of the author's work "Abai" (1945) in Russian; "Abai" (1950, 1961) in Romanian; "Abai" (1962), "Mukhtar Auezov museum" (1967) in English; "Tuoi tre cua Abai" (1967) in Vietnamese; "Shot at the Pass" in Bengali, Arabic, Bulgarian, Finnish and Estonian; "Le temps des tumeltes" in French; the novel "Abay's Way" in English, Urdu, Hindi, Turkish, Persian, Polish, Czech, Mongolian, German; "Beauty in mourning and other stories" in English; "Makaleler" in Turkish; "Kokserek" in Chinese and in CIS languages: Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tatar, Bashkir, Moldovan, Ukrainian, etc.

The Hall of periodicals "Uly surekter ulagaty" collected materials about life and activity of M. Auezov, his scientific works, published on the pages of periodicals from the archival fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. There are unique articles in the magazines "Abai", "Zhuldyz", "Pioner", "Tansholpan", "Khalyk mugalimi", and others.

In the Dissertations Hall named after S. Zimanov, the exhibition of dissertations "Auezov Murasy – urpak kazynasy" is presented by scientific works of scientists who have studied the works and creative activity of M. Auezov in Kazakh and Russian.

In the Art Department the exposition "Onerimizdi orkendetken Uly tulga" presents about 150 publications devoted to the life and creative work of the writer, his works in theater, music, fine arts and cinematography: M. Auezov "Enlik-Kebek", G. Omarkhanova, A. Aziev "The Face of Genius", "100 Masterpieces of Art of Kazakhstan", K. Abdezuly "The Face of Genius", "The Masterpieces of Art of Kazakhstan", "The Art of the Creator". Auezov "Enlik-Kebek", G. Omarkhanova; A. Aziev "The Face of Genius"; "100 Masterpieces of Kazakh Art"; K. Abdesuly "Adebiet zhane oner"; G. Kurmangalikyzy "Cinema" and others. Rich illustrated material is presented.
