On February 18 the National library of the RK together with the school-gymnasium № 86 named after G. Musrepov held literary-music evening "I devote the art to my country" with the participation of the children's writer, poet, laureate of the prize "Alash", the youth prize "Serper" Sayat Kamshyger. The event was held as part of the "Year of Children in Kazakhstan" and implementation of the national projects "A Reading Nation". There was also organized a book exhibition from the library fund "Keleshektіn tutkasy bilimdi urpakta".

The purpose of the event is to popularize the works of Kazakhstani writers, which are popular among young people, to bring up moral qualities in the younger generation and awaken their interest in reading.

The poet, writer and publisher Sayat Kamshiger spoke at the meeting about his work and books for children. The pupils of the 5th grades prepared a literary-musical composition on the works of the writer and a video clip from the life and works of the author, read poetry of the poet. Sayat Kamshiger answered the questions of the participants of the meeting, told about the characters of his works.

In their speeches the head of the Service "Kazakhstan kittaptary" of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rakhimova A.K. and the head of the World Literature Service Tuyakova S.T. noted the importance of books in children's lives and its role in the development of essential life skills, in the ability to speak and express their opinions. Conducting such events has a great developmental and educational value.

During the evening the young specialists of the National Library Kumisbek Nesibeli and Alkambay Ayaulym conducted a review of Kazakh and world children's literature in different languages of the world, presented at the book exhibition. The exhibition features children's literature, translations of books by Kazakh and foreign authors in different languages, encyclopedias, educational books, and others.

Director of school-gymnasium No. 86 named after G. Musrepov Musaeva Kaldykyz Aitzhanovna made a closing speech and told about the ongoing work of the school to attract children to reading, increasing the culture of reading. She also noted the effectiveness of the co-working center, bookcrossing and "IQR BOOK" created in the school library.

At the end of the evening, all participants were presented with Words of Exhortation of Abay Kunanbaev.
