On February 24, 2022 at 11.00 in the Hall of Culture and Literature of China of the National Library of the RK within the framework of the "Year of Children in Kazakhstan" and implementation of the national project "Reading Nation" together with the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College was held a literary event "Book and Youth".

The purpose of the event is to increase the reading activity of young people, to familiarize them with foreign world literature. To broaden the horizons of the younger generation and encourage an interest in reading.

The event was opened by the deputy director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan A.H. Yusupova, who spoke about the activities of the library, the book corners, reading rooms and cooperation with foreign embassies, as well as the role and importance of books in the lives of young people.

At the evening spoke: the head of the Service of World Literature S.T. Tuyakova, who drew attention to the important role of self-education and reading books, the value of literature; librarian K. Kadai Hall of Culture and Literature of China held a bibliographical review of the book exhibition.

College students Saken Zere and Inkarbekova Aruzhan read poems by young poets, and the participants were quizzed on their knowledge of world and Chinese children's literature. The youth audience took an active part in the quiz.

The book exhibition "Chinese Children's Literature" from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan was on display, featuring books by Chinese authors and translations of Kazakhstani writers into Chinese.
