There was a traditional ceremony of handing over books to the Russian Book Corner in the National Library of Kazakhstan from the Consulate General of the Russian Federation and the Russian House in Almaty.

On the 10th of March in the hall named after N. Dauletova took place a traditional ceremony of handing over the books to the Book Corner of Russia in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Consulate General of the Russian Federation and the Russian House in Almaty.

For 10 years the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan is engaged in replenishing the library fund. More than 140 copies of the latest scientific and fiction literature were given to the Russian Book Corner.

At present, the book fund of the Corner has 5,000 copies, the attendance for the past year was 13,047, book issue - 25,243.  The fund is represented by popular science and encyclopedic editions, as well as modern fiction, electronic editions and other materials.

During the ceremony, the winners of the Essay Contest, timed to coincide with the International Mother Language Day, were awarded. The contest was organized by the Russian House in Almaty and the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay. For schoolchildren and students from Kazakhstan aged 14 to 17 years. More than 170 children from all over the country took part in the Contest. The winners were awarded valuable prizes from the organizers, and the participant who took the Grand Prix will go to Russia in the summer of 2022 on the program "Hello, Russia!"

Director of the National Library of Kazakhstan B.K.Ospanova and representative of the Russian House in Almaty, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty T.V.Baryshnikova greeted the participants.

At the event were also made by: the head of the department for educational programs of Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Kazakhstan T.V. Zubkova; doctor of philological sciences, professor, head of the department of Russian language and literature of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay S.D. Abisheva.

At the end of the event by the students of the creative workshop of the foundation "Right to Love" under the direction of M. Makarova, was presented the theatrical production "Pancake week is wide".
