On the 8th of April in the hall named after N. Dauletova. The international conference "Ult Ustay ham alashtin Ahmeti", dedicated to the 150th anniversary of A. Baitursynov, teacher of the nation, educator, linguist, poet and translator, was held on April 8 in N. Dauletova Hall.

Organizers: International Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO and the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The aim of the conference is to study and comprehend the social and political views and scientific ideas of Akhmet Baitursynov, who was an outstanding scientist-linguist, Turkologist, poet and translator, public figure, member of the party "Alash" (repressed in 1937). His scientific works are widely known all over the world. Being one of the founders of Kazakh linguistics, Akhmet Baitursynov saw his main task in opening the way to knowledge for future generations, and Kazakhstan became one of the advanced countries of the world.

The international conference was held by the Chief Researcher of the Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO, writer Nagashybek Kapalbekuly. The Director of the Center for the Rapprochement of Cultures under the auspices of UNESCO, Hero of Labor of Kazakhstan, and People’s Writer Olzhas Omarovich Suleimenov made a welcoming speech. The welcome speeches were also made by: Arman Kyrykbayev, Deputy Akim of Almaty; Yessdaulet Ulugbek Orazbayevich, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Writers' Union, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan.

In addition, Gabriella RAMOS, UNESCO Deputy Director General for Social and Human Sciences from UNESCO Headquarters (Paris, France); Argynbekov Maksat Argynbekovich, Deputy Chairman of the Culture Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan, delivered their welcome speeches online.

As part of the event an exhibition of books and periodicals "Ult ustazy ─ Ahmet Baitursynuly", dedicated to the life and work of A. Baitursynov, was organized from the collection of the National Library of Kazakhstan.

Leading experts in the social sciences and humanities, public and state figures, representatives of international organizations, and the media took part in the conference.
