The main purpose of the book is to study the history of one of the oldest cities in Kazakhstan, the city of Uralsk, the way of its development and prosperity. The book is timed to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This work tells the history of the city of Uralsk from ancient times to the present in Kazakh, English and Russian languages.

The book "History of Uralsk" is made with the use of the latest technology. For the greatest interest for readers, the images in the book can be read via a smartphone, through a specially introduced mobile app. This is the first book in Western Kazakhstan published in this format. It is also possible to read the media content of the book through electronic gadgets, through a specially entered QR code.

The event was opened by the director of the National Library of Kazakhstan, Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna Ospanova. The moderator was a scientist, doctor of philological sciences, member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, president of the foundation "Arys" Garifolla Anes.

The event included speeches by Tuyakbai Rysbekov, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Editorial Board; Mereke Kulkenov, Deputy Chairman of the Writers' Union, Chief Editor of "Zhuldyz" magazine; Orynbek Anesov, Director of "Liber" publishing house; Dauren Gabdullaev, General Director of "Torus. kz" Dauren Gabdullaev; famous artist-designer, General Director of "Children's Literature" publishing house Shaizada Baymenova; member of editorial board, candidate of historical sciences, professor Dametken Suleimenova; journalist, candidate of philosophical sciences Bolatbek Tolepbergen.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by: Tuyakbai Rysbekov, Kundyz Nupov, Aisulu Kydyrbayeva, and Talgat Nurgozhin.

Deputy Akim of Uralsk Nurzhanov Mirbolat Sagyngaliuly made a closing speech at the event and presented letters of thanks from Akim of the region to Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna, Garifolla Anes and Orynbek Anesov, and also presented copies of the new book to the National Library.

During the event, the teacher of the National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy Armat Islamgaliev performed a folk song "Ak zhayik" and the actor of the Academic National Orchestra named after Kurmangazy Akylbek Bektasov performed Kurmangazy's kuy "Toremurat".

Also at the event was exhibited a book exhibition "Akzhaiyk kalamgerlerinin kitaphanasy", which presents books by writers of Western Kazakhstan, published in different years.

Participants: poets-writers, journalists and publishers, librarians of Almaty city and Almaty region, people of art, students and readers.
