On April 22 in the Hall of Library Science named after R. Berdigalieva, as part of the declared in Kazakhstan Year of Children and the Year of Support for Children and Youth Reading, as well as in the "KITAP SHOU - 2022", dedicated to the celebration of the World Book and Copyright Day was a round table "The World of Heroes of the novel by A. Nurshaihov "Years of Joy and Love", and a competition for a scholarship named after A. Nurshaihov, timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the national writer of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the event is to popularize the work of the writer, to help reveal the creative potential of young people and foster a culture of reading the younger generation.

Nurshaihov wrote mainly about love and friendship, patriotism and morality. The novel "Years of Joy and Love", which became a board book of Kazakh youth, was written in the 70s of the last century, and tells the love story of the soldier Erbol and his beloved Mentai in the postwar years in the walls of a higher educational institution.

The event was moderated by G. Musaeva, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The opening speech was made by Zhanar Nurshaihova, the daughter of the writer, professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philological Sciences.

Unusual and unforgettable for the participants of the round table was the story of two books that had been to war: the novel of M. Auezov "The Way of Abay" and A. Nurshaihov "The Years of Joy and Love". The moderator made a parallel between these two stories, and the veteran of Afghan war K. Pirmashov told about the events related to these books, which happened to him and his friend in Afghanistan. Students performed their poems and staged an excerpt from the novel "Years of Joy and Love" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the writer A. Nurshaihov. They shared their impressions of the play "Years of Joy and Love" by young talented director F. Moldagul at the Musrepov Theater.

At the end of the event, the results of Contest 2022 were summed up. The famous Kazakh artists M.S. Amanbayev and R.R. Suleimenov sent their wonderful works outside the competition, which were placed in the Writer's Memorial Office. At the book fair organized by the National Library of Kazakhstan it was possible to buy famous and unknown books of A. Nurshakhov, the national writer of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by students, teachers of universities in Almaty and participants of the Contest.
