On April 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., the III International scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union and Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov was held at the Sagadat Nurmagambetov Military Institute of the Land Forces on the topic: «Topical issues of the development of military science». A visiting book exhibition was organized from the fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the life and work of the military writer.

Within the framework of the conference, specialists from the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Service of Exhibitions and Cultural Programs Zhurmanov Damir Yerboluly and Malik Zarina Meirkhatovna reviewed the books presented at the book exhibition.

The purpose of the conference is to organize a constructive discussion of a wide range of issues and problems of the development of military science.

Hero of the Soviet Union, First Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, «Halyk Kaharmany №1», Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov was born on May 25, 1924 in Akkol district of Akmola region.

Sagadat Nurmagambetov was elected deputy of the Supreme Council of the Republic several times in 1971-1994.

After Kazakhstan gained independence, he worked tirelessly to strengthen the security and defense sector of his native country.

He regulated the system of the military industry, modernized military higher educational institutions, and made every effort to train highly qualified and educated military personnel.

By a government decree, the name of Sagadat Nurmagambetov was assigned to the Military Institute of the Army, as well as the «Zhas Ulan» School in Astana.

The conference addressed a wide range of issues about achievements and opportunities in military affairs, as well as problems of military science and ways to solve them.

Target audience: The Academy of Military Sciences, government and public figures, scientists, faculty, representatives of various branches of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
