On November 13-14 this year, at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the heads and specialists of the Centralized Library System of Almaty passed an excursion educational practice in order to promote innovations in the development of librarianship, strengthen professional ties.

Deputy Director for Library Work of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yusupova A.H., focusing on the brief history of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, noted the work that is being carried out in the library today. The strategic priorities of the library, replenishment and preservation of the book fund, implementation of international library and information projects on printed materials, study, analysis of the state of librarianship in Kazakhstan, improvement of the regulatory framework for the activities of libraries of the republic were announced. She familiarized with the work of the Kazakhstan Library Union.

Deputy Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Information Technologies and Innovations Iskalieva N.A. spoke about the «WEB – Rabis» program, electronic catalogs and databases of the library.

The participants of the excursion educational practice were familiarized with the structural units of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In addition, information was provided on library services, the introduction and development of new information technologies, reference and bibliographic work, the use of electronic catalogs and databases, work on the formation of digital content, as well as on the release of scientific and auxiliary bibliographic manuals and other issues.
