On July 23 of this year, the library hosted a round table «Zholy ken zhazushi», dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of the people's writer of the Kazakh SSR, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, public figure, laureate of the State Prize of the Kazakh SSR and named after Sh. Ualikhanov, twice a knight of the Order of Lenin, twice - the Red Banner of Labor, the Order of the «Sign Honor» by Mukanov Sabit Mukanovich.

Zh. Korgasbek, Secretary of the Board of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, winner of the International Literary Award «Alash»; academician of the National Academy of Sciences K. Kurmanaliev; daughter of the writer J. Mukanov; Doctors of Philology, Professors D.Iskak, K. Akhmetov, G. Orda, M. Bekbosynov participated in the event organized to promote the writer's works and memories of his life to the reader. Poet, knight of the Order of «Kurmet» A. Kairbekov expressed their opinions and shared their memories of the writer's works, his contribution to Kazakh literature.

As part of the event organized by the National Library, an exhibition was presented, which featured the writer's prose books, memoirs, as well as photographs obtained from the Literary Memorial Museum of S.Mukanov and G.Musrepov.

The event was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia, poets, writers, the writer's family, students of «Almaty Polytechnic College», Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur Mubarak, Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, Almaty College Prestige, soldiers of the Military Institute of the Ground Forces.S. Nurmagambetova, teachers and students of gymnasium № 46 and Kunaev, as well as the Republican educational and Recreation Center «Baldauren» and other guests.
