On April 23, 2025, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan celebrated the National Book Day, established by the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In the hall of World Literature, the artists of the State Puppet Theater of Almaty staged a play for children «Ur, tokpak!», based on the famous Kazakh folk tale, and adapted for the stage of the State Puppet Theater.

This theatrical production received positive reviews from theater critics for its dynamic performance and vivid embodiment of folk wisdom. The actors used different types of dolls, and the decorations in the national style gave the performance a special flavor.

The fairy tale, which tells about the struggle of a respectable and fair aksakal with the magical evil Zheztyrnaks, reflects many moral values peculiar to the Kazakh national worldview and culture.

Today, the theater actively tours, participates in international festivals and receives recognition for the high quality of performances.  In addition to Kazakh fairy tales, his repertoire includes fairy tales of the peoples of the world. The theater's staff is constantly on a creative quest, and tries to delight its audience with new performances that are interesting not only to children, but also to adults.

Participants: students and teachers of the private school «Kokil» and secondary school № 45, as well as parents of students and library readers.
