Today, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a presentation of the biographical book «Bugingi fotosuret – yertengi tarikh», compiled by Dauren Maksutkhanuly, a member of the republican public association « Photo Art» and dedicated to the 85th anniversary of veteran photojournalist Kaligumar Kabdeshuly, a member of the International Organization of Journalists of the USSR and UNESCO.

An exhibition of photographs by Kaligumar Kabdeshula was organized as part of the event. Laureates of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice-President of the Nevada-Semey anti-nuclear movement, members of the republican association «Photo Art», Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, professors of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov, representatives of the International Fund named after T. Zhurgenov, spoke at the event, held with the aim of educating the younger generation in the wisdom of photography and popularizing his work. D.A. Kunaeva.Fellow countrymen, poets and writers touched upon the work of photojournalist Kaligumar Kabdeshula and shared important moments from his life.

The event was attended by intellectuals, public figures, the photojournalist's family, poets, writers, and artists.
