Today, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted the presentation of the book «When the Cranes Return» («Tyrnalar qaytqanda»), dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the renowned poet Shayahmet Alzhambayev.

The event, organized to introduce readers to the poet’s new works and memoirs published in the book, as well as to promote his legacy among the younger generation, featured Deputy Akim (Mayor) of Almaty A. Kaldybekov presenting Sh. Alzhambayev with a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the «Golden Bars» («Altyn Barys») honorary badge. Additionally, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan G. Kalibekuly, People’s Writers of Kazakhstan B. Nurzhekeyev and A. Ashimov, Deputy Akim of the Panfilov District of Zhetysu Region K. Dosmailov, as well as fellow poets and writers, shared heartfelt memories of key moments in his life.

The ceremony was attended by public figures, poets, writers, intellectuals, and fellow countrymen of the poet.
