Today, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a memorial evening titled «Zhakut Zhyrdyn Zhauhary», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding poet, translator, and People's Writer of Kazakhstan, Kuandyk Shangytbayev.

The event was organized to promote the poet’s work and share memories of him with the younger generation. It was attended by the Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gaziza Kudaybergenovna Nurgaliyeva, the Chairman of the Union of Writers of the Turkic World, U. Yesdaulet, and the poet’s daughter, Gauhar Shangytbayeva. The sons and daughters of his friends, including S. Maulenov, Kh. Yergaliyev, and T. Aibergenov, shared their memories, while poets and writers, led by A. Baktygereyeva, spoke about Shangytbayev’s literary legacy.

As part of the evening, a presentation of a book dedicated to the life and work of the writer, taken from the collections of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held, along with a photo exhibition from the family archive. The poet’s family also presented guests with Kuandyk Shangytbayev’s book «Makhabbat pen Gadauat».

The event was attended by members of the intelligentsia, government and public figures, poets, writers, students, and military personnel from a local unit.
