On January 29, 2025, fire and tactical exercises were held in the building of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, organized by the Department of emergency situations of Almaty and the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The purpose of the exercise: to work out the actions of personnel to extinguish conditional fires in the library building and Book Depository.

During the event, at 11:00, an alarm was sounded at the fire stations of the Department of emergency situations of Almaty. Firefighters quickly arrived at the building, evacuated the remaining people in the facility and carried out work to extinguish the fire on the territory of the building. In addition, explanatory work was carried out on the first actions of the staff of the institution during the state of emergency.

The training session was attended by 50 employees of the state fire service (SSP), ambulance workers and 105 employees of the library.
