The exhibition «Ayel tеndigi», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the socio-political, literary and artistic magazine «Kazakhstan ayelderi», has been organized in the reading room of periodicals.
The purpose of the exhibition is to acquaint readers with the history and development of the magazine «Kazakhstan Ayelderi», to emphasize its importance in highlighting the role of women in society and popularizing the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. The exhibition is also aimed at preserving historical memory and promoting the values reflected in the materials of the magazine.
The socio-political, literary and artistic magazine «Kazakhstan ayelderi» is aimed at a female audience. The publication has been published since 1925 and is one of the oldest Kazakh-language magazines in the republic.
The magazine «Kazakhstan ayelderi» was founded on the basis of the newspapers «Azat ayel» and «Tеndik» (1925). Since January 1926, the magazine was published under the name «Ayel tandigi». In 1935-1941 and 1950-1954 – under the name «Stalin Zholy», since January 1955 – «Kazakhstan ayelderi».
The main topics of the magazine are: women's rights, their role in society and the family; traditions and culture of Kazakhstan; modern trends in fashion, beauty and health; literary works by Kazakhstani authors; success stories of Kazakhstani women; advice on parenting, housekeeping and cooking.
Over the years, the magazine has had editors-in-chief: Yesova Sarah Satpaevna (1925-1932), Sanalieva Nurjamal Seisengalievna (1932-1934), Arykova Nagima Idrisovna (1934-1937), Mariam Bektembekova (1937-1949), Seitkazieva Hasiba Gabbasovna (1949-1951), Atina Zhaketova (1951-1980), Maria Sapashevna Karakunakova (1980-1988 years).
Since 1988, Zhaganova Altynshash Kairzhanovna has been the president and editor-in-chief of the magazine.
The magazine was awarded the Order of the USSR «Badge of Honor» (1976).
Currently, the socio-political, literary and artistic magazine «Kazakhstan Ayelderi» also continues to be published regularly, maintaining the relevance of topics and high quality of materials. The magazine is published once every two months, with a circulation of 1,700 copies.
The exhibition presents various materials about the magazine «Kazakhstan Ayelderi» from the collection of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as more than 68 magazines and 4 newspaper articles from different years of publication.
