During her visit to Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ospanova Bakhytzhamal Kairbekovina took part in the presentation of the bibliographic index «Heydar Aliyev – 100», published on the Memorial Day of the first President of Azerbaijan, statesman Heydar Aliyev, held at Baku State University.

The rector of the university and the author of the index, Elchin Babayev, noted that the great leader Heydar Aliyev is an outstanding leader, a wise politician and the main architect of the national path of development of the people, who left a deep mark in the history of Azerbaijan. The publication of the Index is a great contribution to the study and promotion of the heritage of Heydar Aliyev and the ideas of the development of Azerbaijan.

Secretary General of the International Organization TURKSOY Sultan Raev stressed that the leader of the nation is a great son not only of Azerbaijan, but also of the entire Turkic world. He noted that the great leader played an important role in the creation of the TURKSOY organization. In addition, Sultan Raev and Elchin Babayev signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation between the two organizations.

In her speech, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna noted the informational significance of the Index on Heydar Aliyev for studying the life and work of the national leader.

Ospanova gave brief information about the objectives of the visit to Baku, the meeting of the conference of directors of national libraries of Turkic-speaking countries, the activities of the newly created association of national libraries of the Turkic world and the importance of Turkic-speaking peoples in preserving and spreading common values. She also shared comprehensive information about the activities of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a scientific and methodological center for libraries of the Republic, spoke about the work of the Cataloger School, the School of Conservation and Restoration of Written Documents and the dual education system.

The event was attended by representatives of the TURKSOY organization, directors of national libraries of Turkic-speaking countries from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Hungary, Northern Cyprus and other countries, government and public figures, representatives of scientific and creative intelligentsia, university teachers and professors.
