On November 20, 2024, in the N. Dauletova Hall of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a literary and musical evening «Halyk kaharmany - Rakymzhan Koshkarbayev» was held, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the National Hero of Kazakhstan Rakymzhan Koshkarbayev, who hoisted the Victory banner on the Reichstag in Berlin.

The evening was spent by historian, Alasheved scholar Eldos Toktarbai.

Honored Cultural Worker, Veteran of the Kazakh radio Serikov Amanzhan Yensebayuly shared his memories of Rakymzhan Koshkarbayev.

Young specialists of the National Library Alkambai Ayaulym, Azhibekova Zarina, Ablaikhan Zhanbolat talked about the works of poets-veterans, read their poems.

During the event, songs of the war years, patriotic and lyrical about their native land were performed by the «Bereket» children's choir of the 140th gymnasium named after M. Makatayev, cadets of the National Guard Doszhanov O.A. and the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan Estai B.E., Arykbaev M.B. and Aimakhanov N.B., doctoral student of the Medical University named after S. Asfendiyarov Raushan A.K.

In order to popularize the heroic feat of the heroes of the Kazakh people, instill patriotic feelings in the younger generation, wartime videos about Kazakhstanis who fought on the front line were shown. A book exhibition dedicated to the National Hero of Kazakhstan Rakymzhan Koshkarbayev was organized from the funds of the National Library.

The event was attended by personnel of the Department of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Zhetysu region, cadets of the State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan «Ontustik», students of the multidisciplinary college UIB, students of gymnasium No. 46, youth, etc.
