The Publishing Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan took part in the XII International Book and Printing Exhibition «Along the Great Silk Road», which takes place from November 20-22, 2024 on the territory of Atakent in Almaty.

The exhibition was held with the official support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Akimat of Almaty. The exhibition was organized by the National State Book Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Association of Publishers, Printers and Book Distributors of Kazakhstan, the Association of Book Publishers of Independent States.

The purpose of the exhibition is an opportunity to introduce Kazakhstanis to new printing services and new printed products: books, magazines, newspapers, posters, postcards and other publications published over the past two years.

The Publishing Service of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, being a regular participant in book exhibitions and fairs, presented at its stand more than 100 titles of printed products: bibliographic indexes on the history of statehood, diplomacy, archeology and ethnography of Kazakhstan, fiction; bibliographic indexes of the historical and cultural cycle dedicated to prominent figures of the country: A. Baitursynov, O. Zhandosov, M.O. Auezov, K. Tokaev, K-Zh. Tokaev, M.M. Auezov, S. Zimanova, R. Baglanova, S. Mukhamedzhanova, E. Khasangalieva, S. Udartseva, etc. The bibliographic «Calendar of significant and memorable dates of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2025», a recommendation index of newspaper and magazine articles «New literature about Kazakhstan» in Kazakh, Russian and English for 2023-24, the professorial journal «Kitap zhane kitapkhana» are presented.

The exhibition gathered more than 100 participants from around the world, including Russia, China, Turkey, Uzbekistan, India, etc. The exhibition included a demonstration of printing services and materials, the sale of a variety of printed products, professional seminars and lectures, meetings of publishers, book distributors and readers with popular contemporary writers.         

The exhibition aroused great interest among professional specialists, as well as young people.
