On October 22, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted the republican solemn event «Kitaphana – Parasat Ordasy» dedicated to the Librarian's Day.

October 24 is Librarian's Day in Kazakhstan, approved in 2022.  The holiday is celebrated in order to enhance the image of the librarian profession and strengthen the role of libraries in the life of society, to stimulate librarians.

Librarians of regional universal, children's, youth, special, city, district and rural libraries from all regions of Kazakhstan took part in the solemn event.

Young librarians of the National Library greeted the guests at the central entrance, and a military band played in their honor. 

The solemn event opened with video congratulations from Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Balayeva Aida Galymovna and President of the International Federation of IFLA Vicky McDonald.

The participants of the event were warmly congratulated on their professional holiday by: Chairman of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Ali; Deputy Head of the Department of Culture of Almaty Khalbekov Arman Beisenbaevich; chairman of the Public Association «Kazakhstan Branch Professional Union of Workers of Culture, Sports, Tourism and Information» Imankulova Svetlana Kenesovna; Deputy Commander of the regional command «Ontustik» of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy for educational and socio-legal work Colonel Alkeshev Niyaztai Bolatovich; Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Library Union Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kairbekovna.

In honor of the holiday, Chairman of the Committee of Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Rustam Ali presented librarians with departmental awards of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan: badges «Madeniyet salasyn uzdigi» and «Enbek ardageri», Certificates of honor and Letters of thanks.⠀
