An international writers' conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the classic of Kazakh literature, people's writer of Kazakhstan Abdizhamil Nurpeisov was held.

The moderator of the conference is Bigeldy Gabdullin, President of the Kazakh PEN Club, novelist, journalist, laureate of the International PEN Club Award.

The event was attended by Rustam Ali, Chairman of the Committee on Archives, Documentation and Book Business of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Mamai Akhetov, Ethics Commissioner of the Akimat of Almaty; Shakhmardan Baymanov– Deputy Akim of the Kyzylorda region.  Mereke Kulkenov, Chairman of the Board of the Union of Writers of Kazakhstan, made a congratulatory speech.

The event was also attended by:  Georgy Pryakhin is a Russian politician, writer and publisher; Yves Gautien is a famous French writer, traveler and translator; Ikrami Ozturan is a Turkish writer; Khurshid Davron is an Uzbek poet, playwright, novelist, historian and translator; Smagul Yelubai is a People's Writer of Kazakhstan, film dramatist, winner of the literary prize of the Turkic world; Nurlan Orazalin is a famous Kazakh poet, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Ergali Geran – a famous Russian writer from Lithuania; Dalmira Tlepbergen – Kyrgyz novelist, film director, screenwriter, producer. The famous Kazakh literary critic Svetlana Ananyeva spoke about the life and work of Abdizhamil Nurpeisov, shared her memories of him.

The event featured a film by famous film director, screenwriter, winner of international awards Sergey Asimov  «Songy Sapar» , and a book exhibition from the Fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan  «Adebiettin almendi akiygy» dedicated to the life and work of Abdizhamil Nurpeisov was organized.
