On October 4, in the hall of N. Dauletova of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Ualikhanov and the Department of Historical Demography of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan within the framework of the project «Kazakhstan XX gasyrdyn 20-30-shy zhyldaryndagi kalalary (aleumettik-madeni phenomenon of retinde: ethnodemographyalyk zhane aleumettik-madeni damu)» an international scientific and practical conference on the topic «XX gasyrdyn I-zhartysyndagi Kazakstan aleumettik-demografiyalyk zhane madeni damu maseleri», dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M.A. Asylbek.

The moderators of the conference are Advisor to the Director General of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Ualikhanov, PhD, Associate Professor Shashaev A.K. and Director of the Institute for International Integration of Socio-Humanitarian Studies «Intellect Orda», PhD, Professor Mazhitov S.F.

The scientific and practical conference was attended by Chairman of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan G. J. Zhankuatov; Director General of the Institute of History and Ethnology named after Sh. Ualikhanov, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Z.E. Kabyldinov; President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Academician M. J. Zhurinov. The President of the Union of Scientists of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Economics, Professor O. Sabden in his speech noted the importance of the topic under consideration, wished success to the participants of the conference.

National and foreign scientists from Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Tajikistan, Germany, Kyrgyzstan in their reports noted the invaluable contribution of Academician M.A. Asylbek in the research of socio-demographic and cultural processes in the cities of Kazakhstan at the beginning of the twentieth century.

There was also a presentation of the books «Malik-Aidar Asylbekov: Onegeli omir», «Malik-Aidar Asylbekov: Biobibliographyа  korsetkishi», «Population of Kazakhstan according to the All-Union census of 1939», «Population of Kazakhstan according to the results of the All-Union population censuses of 1937 and 1939» and a collection of archival documents and materials «Kazakhstan XX gasyrdyn 20-40 zhyldardagi demographicalyk tarikhy».
