On October 9, the republican conference «Kitaphana – orkeniyet Murasy» was held in Shymkent, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the al-Farabi library.

The conference was attended by Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Library Union B.K. Ospanova, Deputy Director for Library Work A.H. Yusupova, mentor of the «Republican Organization of Young Librarians», Chairman of the «Youth Council of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan» E.S. Kabdrashidov.

Prior to the opening of the conference, a guided tour of the Al-Farabi Library was organized for the guests.

The conference was moderated by Ph.D., Head of the Department of Political Science of M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University S.A. Mazhinbekov.

Within the framework of the conference, a caravan of 2,500 books was organized, donated from the exchange-rezev fund of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the al-Farabi Library.

The event was attended by: Deputy Akim of Shymkent S. Kuranbek; Ph.D. Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zh. Altaev; artist, ethno-designer, kobyzist K. Karabdalov; PhD, Associate professor of the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after U. Zhanibekov K. Anarbayev; Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Library Union B. Ospanova; director of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan G. Nurgalieva; mentor of the «Republican Organization of Young Librarians», Chairman of the «Youth The Council of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan» E.S.Kabdrashidov; Ph.D., Director of the al-Farabi City Scientific and Universal Library A. Zhaparkulovа.

The event featured a video film «Kitaphana – orkeniyet Murasy» and an artist of the Kazakh Academic Drama Theater named after Z. Shanina D. Aralbayev read al-Farabi's monologue.

 At the end of the event, awards were presented to the staff of the al-Farabi Library.
