On September 12, 2024, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan published the book «N. K. Roerich. World through culture», a book exhibition with stands and decorations was opened.

The exhibition is held as part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the master and the day of the city of Almaty.

Roerich Nikolai Konstantinovich (09.10.1874 – 13.12.1947) – artist, scientist, traveler, writer, public and cultural figure, thinker. He created more than 7,000 paintings. The author of monumental and decorative works, such as cathedrals and churches (painting, mosaics), scenery and costume sketches for more than 20 theater performances, including in collaboration with Sergei Diaghilev, in the «Russian seasons». The author of dozens of books, articles, essays, essays of journalistic and philosophical content.

The purpose of the exhibition is to acquaint the Kazakhstani public with the multifaceted cultural, creative and scientific activities of Professor N. K. Roerich.⠀

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the deputy director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan for information technologies and innovations Iskalieva Nuria Amangalievna.⠀

Lyudmila Ivanovna Glushchenko, chairman of the N. K. Roerich Cultural Center (Almaty), made a speech and presented research on the works and works of N. K. Roerich to the National Library Fund.⠀

Honored Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmaral Kainazarova; senior researcher of the State Art Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after A. Kasteev Bazhenova Natalya Aleksandrovna also spoke at the event.

This exhibition can be visited in the National Library until September 24.
