From September 9 to September 13, 2024, 12 specialists from libraries of the Atyrau region, as well as 1 specialist from the school library of the Karasai district of the Almaty region, were trained at the Cataloguer School of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The students got acquainted with international and national documents on cataloguing, rules for compiling bibliographic records, processes of work on the creation and formation of electronic catalogs and databases, issues of organizing the acquisition of library collections, and with the scientific and methodological activities of the National Library. Lectures and practical classes were held on 5 modules of the Web-RABIS library information system.

Publications of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan were donated to the library collection of the Atyrau region, including the bibliographic index "Saule Doszhan" with the author's note of the Kazakh poetess, writer, journalist, honored figure of Kazakhstan Saule Doszhan. The presentation of the bibliographic index took place at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan on September 10, 2024.

An introductory tour of the National Library and the innovative cultural center "Alatau Creative Hub" was organized for the students.

Upon completion of the course, the students were awarded certificates.
