There in the reading-hall after O. Zhandosov of the Service “Kazakstan kitaptary” is organized the book exhibition “El tizginin ustagan kairatker”, dedicated to the 70-th birthday of the President of the RK, doctor of science (politics), diplomat Kasym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev.

Kasym-Zhomart Kemelevich Tokayev is the President of the RK, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the RK,  Chairman of the Council of Security of the RK, Chairman of the Assembly of the people of Kazakhstan, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Doctor  of science in politics, the Real Member of the World academy of humanitarian and natural sciences.

The book exhibition consists of three divisions. The first part of the book exhibition “Tugyry biyik tulga” reflects the materials about the life and activity of Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev. He was born on May 17, 1953 in Almaty city. In 1975 he graduated from the Moscow state institute of international relations, the pre-diploma probation he passed at the embassy of the USSR in the People’s Republic of China, in 1983-1984 he passed through the probation at the Beijing linguistic institute. In 1992 he graduated from the Diplomatic academy of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Russian Federation.

He began his labour activity in 1975 at the Ministry of foreign affairs of the USSR, he was sent to work to the Soviet embassy in the Republic of Singapore. In 1984-1985 he worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the USSR, after that he was sent to Beijing, where he worked till 1991 at the post of the councilor. In 1992 he was appointed deputy, after that - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In October, 1999 he was appointed prime-minister of the RK. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as the minister of foreign affairs of the RK. At this post he participated actively in the global process of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. In 2007 he was elected chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the RK, and in 2008 as the Speaker of the Upper Chamber of the Kazakhstani Parliament, Vice-president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE. In 2011 he was appointed deputy General secretary of the UNO, General Director of the UNO department in Geneva, he occupied the post of General secretary at the Conference for disarmament. He was chosen the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of foreign affairs of the CIS, the Shanghai organization of cooperation, the Eurasian Economic Community. The honorary professor at the universities of different countries, including the Diplomatic academy of the MFA of the RF and the Shengzheng university of the PRC, the honorary dean of the Geneva school of diplomacy and international relations. Speaks freely 5 languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Chinese and French. In 2013 again was elected chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the RK. In 2019 officially entered the post of the Head of the state.

The second part of the exhibition “Zhanaru men zhangyru zholy” acquaints the readers with the works of K.-Zh. Tokayev. He is the author of the books and articles on the issues of international relations, including: “How it all was: the chronicles of perturbations in Beijing (04.1989-06.1989)” (1993), “The Organization of United Nations: the half-century of serving peace” (1995), “Under the flag of independence” (1997), “The foreign policy of Kazakhstan in the conditions of globalization” (2000), “The diplomacy of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2001), “The word about the father” (2005), “He makes the history” (2010) and others.                

There in the third part “Zhana dauyir – zhana tulga” are presented the materials and books, the historical-publicistic articles and essays, which disclose the different aspects of his activity in the sphere of world diplomacy and politics.

The purpose of the book exhibition “El tizginin ustagan kairatker” is the acquaintance with the life and activity of K.-Zh. Tokayev, the attraction of the attention of the readers to the role of the Head of state in the history of the formation and development of the Kazakhstani statehood and international diplomacy, his scientific works and achievements.

Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev is awarded with the multiple state awards of the RK and foreign countries, and also with the orders: “Parasat” (1996), “Friendship” (2004), “Commonwealth” (2007), “Otan” (2014), “The Order of Honour” (2017), “Altyn Kyran”  of especial specimen, as the President of Kazakhstan (2019), “Duslyk” (2022) and others.
