August 10 at the National library of the RK took place the holiday event named “Bilimdiden shykkan soz…”, dedicated to the Abai Day.

On this day the parade entry of the National library was decorously made, from the early morning there were played the songs of Abai.

The activity was solemnly opened by director of National library B. Ospanova who congratulated all the participants with the Abai Day. The moderator was the writer and literary expert, public figure Eldos Toktarbai.

There spoke with the congratulatory speech the well-known poet, Chairman of the Board of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan Ulykbek Esdaulet, deputy of the maslikhat of Almaty city, chief editor of the newspaper “Almaty akshamy” Kali Sarsenbai, the honored figure of Kazakhstan, professor, corresponding member of the NAS of the RK Asyly Osman, deputy head of the Department of culture of Almaty city Daniyar Aliyev.

There at the activity were read the verses and sung the songs of Abai.The actor of the National Kazakh dramatic theatre after M. Auezov Bolat Abdilmanov in the role of Abai presented the excerpt from the play. The actress of the Republican academic German dramatic theatre and the pupils of the secondary schools of Almaty city read the verses and “The words of edification”. The performer of the folk songs Erkin Shukimanov performed the popular song by the verses of Abai “Segiz ayak”.The songs of Abai in the German language were performed by the pupils of the children’s musical studio Katzen Piloten of the Republican academic German dramatic theatre. There were also performed the poppuri from the songs of the poet. The pupil girl of the sponsored school of the General consulate of Russia in Almaty city expressively read “The 37-th word” from “The words of edification” of Abai.

The workers of the library read the verses of Abai expressively translated into the Russian, Chinese and English languages. The verses of Abai were performed by the participants of the literary club “Zhas kalam”.

The songs of Abai in the German language were performed by the pupils of the children’s musical studio “Katzen Piloten” at the Republican academic German dramatic theatre. There were also performed the poppuri from the songs of the author. The girl pupil of the sponsored school of the General consulate of Russia in Almaty city expressively read “The 37-th word” from “The words of edification” of Abai.The leading publishing houses of Almaty city (“Atamura”, “Almatykitap”, “Kokzhiyek”, “Mazmundama”, “Kasym” and others) organized the book exhibition-fair.

There with the participation of the readers and young workers of the library was carried out the action “Atymdy Abai koigan son…”.

In the course of the activity there took place the ceremony of donation of the books and the handing to all the participants of the letters of gratitude. The journalist, the writer about Abai, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan, the scientific secretary of National library N.Zh. Zhunisbekov also donated his books “Abaidyn akyn uldary” and “Abai saulesy” with the autograph.  

There within the framework of the activity the guests and the participants had the possibility to become acquainted with the activity of the literary centre “Abai” and the book exhibitions organized in the reading halls of the library. There in the activity participated the poets and writers, publishers, readers, students and pupils, librarians, mass-media representatives.
