From April 4 to April 15, the bookbinder of the Scientific Library of the Kazakh National Medical University named after S.D. Asfendiyarov (KazNMU) Afanasievа I.K. was trained and improved her qualifications at the School for the Conservation and Restoration of Written Documents operating in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Theoretical and practical knowledge on the long-term preservation of library collections was given in the laboratory of scientific preservation of documents. Practical skills in the restoration and repair of books were obtained in the restoration and bookbinding sector. During the practical work, the specialist was familiarized with new technologies of restoration processes, materials and tools.

At the end of the course on preservation and restoration of documents, I.K. Afanasyeva was issued the  certificate.
