On April 6, the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the IFLA/PAK Regional Center for Central Asia held the regular meeting in the online format with the participation of representatives from the National Libraries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and organizations engaged in the preservation and preservation of documentary written heritage, namely with the Ch. Aitmatov Institute of Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyz Republic, Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan after Abu Raykhan Beruni, Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts after Makhtumkuli of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
Welcoming speech was made by B.K. Ospanova, Director of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Kazakhstani Library Union (KBS), Director of the IFLA/PAK Regional Center for Central Asia.
According to the agenda of the meeting, issues of further joint work on the dissemination of knowledge and information in the long-term preservation of rarities, issues of concluding contracts with new organizations were discussed. The video report of the restorer of the Restoration, Conservation and Binding Service M.D. Uskembayeva "Restoration and binding of books in the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan", prepared for the VI International Scientific and Practical seminar "Document restoration: conservatism and innovation - 2022", Moscow, was demonstrated.
Following the meeting, it was decided to conclude contracts with new organizations and conduct joint activities to disseminate knowledge about the preservation and restoration of documentary written heritage.
