Between June 14 - 18 the specialists from the libraries of West Kazakhstan and Almaty regions are trained at the Cataloguer School, which operates on the basis of  National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the training, the specialists will receive the theoretical and practical skills to work with the domestic WEB-RABIS program. The Kazakhstani Center for Corporate Cataloging module will demonstrate the possibilities of corporate cataloging of Kazakhstani libraries. The Kazakhstani Center for Corporate Cataloging, operating on the basis of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, allows the participating libraries to reduce the cost of creating the electronic catalogs by the creating bibliographic records on the corporate basis and eliminating their multiple duplication in the process of document processing.

Particular attention will be paid to the derivation of statistical indicators for all library processes, which allows you to analyze and evaluate the efficiency of the library and each employee.     

On the first day, the excursion was conducted around the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is the scientific and methodological center for all libraries of the republic. Particular attention was paid to the work of the departments: digital technologies, restoration, conservation and binding, rare books and manuscripts.     

Specialists of the West Kazakhstani region became interested in the work of the school for the Restoration, conservation and binding , which also operates on the basis of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
