РесейOn May 19 there in the online regime took place the Discussion site “The library associations of the world” (LAW) “The library 2030: The world changed. And what about us?”, organized by the Section for international cooperation of the Russian Library Association

The work meeting was dedicated to the issues of effective planning of the librarianship business at the national level and the successful practices of management inside the national professional association. The pandemia and the necessity for self-isolation became the unexpected challenge for the libraries of the whole world. The situation made the libraries reconsider in the shortest time their role in the local community, introduce the new models of servicing of users and management of the collective of workers. In the course of the meeting the heads of the 21 national library associations of the world analyzed the changes in the strategies of development of the librarianship business of their countries and they offered the initiatives which they plan to implement during the period up to 2030.

There at the online discussion site spoke: Barbara Lizon – the Elected president of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA); Mandla Ntombela – President of library associations and institutions of Africa (AFLIA); Ton van Vlimmeren – President of the European bureau of library, information and documentation associations (EBLIDA), and also the Presidents of library associations of America, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, China, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mexico, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Great Britain.

There with the report about the activity and initiatives of the Kazakhstani Library Union spoke its chairperson and director of National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ospanova Bakytzhamal Kayirbekovna.
